2008 Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to Danielle Brassington and Elizabeth Hughes, recipients of the 2008 NVGSA Scholarship awards. Not only were Liz and Dani key contributors to their teams, both of them stood out for their volunteer activities with the NVGSA, their involvement in school and community service activities, and their commitment to continuing their post secondary education.
We had seven highly qualified applicants apply for our two $500 scholarships this year, which made the selection process pleasantly difficult. We were especially impressed by the level of both NVGSA volunteering and North Shore community involvement by all of the applicants.
Dani and Liz were presented with their awards at the NVGSA AGM on June 26, 2008. We wish Liz and Dani all the best with their future education plans and sport activities, and encourage them to continue their volunteer activities. We are fortunate to have athletes of your character and commitment in the NVGSA. Thank you and good luck!
